Please see attached letter received today from Avnic Trading with regards to the Plug & Play CD which will no longer be included with the Plug & Play Units(PND's). The Plug & Play range, as you know, is supplied with mapping data pre-programmed on theSD card: no registration is required to activate the mapping data. When we introduced the Plug & Play Personal Navigation Devices (PNDs) the aim was to simplify the customer experience and get the customer on the road with a working navigation device as quickly and painlessly as possible. We have found that the concept has been very successful, but the presence of the CD has created confusion for some customers we have many unnecessary and incorrect attempts to register the mapping software and some have attempted to write information onto the SD. Accordingly we have decided that in future the Plug & Play PNDs will no longer be shipped with a CD. There are units that have already been kitted in our Warehouse that still have both the CD and the SD card so you may still receive units with a CD, but please expect to start receiving units without a CD. Customers who still want a CD to load maps onto their PCs can purchase a CD from www.garmap.co.za. We believe that this change will have minimal impact on the customers other than removing a source of confusion and error
